Getting to the Houston Rodeo at NRG Park without the shuttle math

The Rodeo itself runs Tuesday, March 2 through Sunday, March 21, 2027, its 95th year. The World's Championship Bar-B-Que Contest comes first, Thursday, February 25 through Saturday, February 27.

Those three barbecue days are their own event and their own traffic. If you are going to a team's tent, treat it as a separate night out rather than a warm-up.

The Rodeo runs satellite park-and-ride lots with shuttles into NRG Park, and reading its own published terms is the clearest argument for a car. At OST, Reed Road, and Fannin South the parking is $25 per car. West Loop, Monroe, and Maxey are free to park but charge per person for the round-trip ride.

The timing is the catch. By the Rodeo's published schedule the last bus departs from the satellite lots to NRG Park at 9 p.m. The last bus back from NRG Park to the satellite lots leaves at 1 a.m. Sunday through Thursday and 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.

So a late concert ends with a queue for a bus, a ride to a remote lot, and a drive home after that. With a chauffeur, the car comes to you when you are walking out, and the only journey is the one home.

NRG Park holds several venues on one site, including NRG Stadium and NRG Center, and Rodeo traffic uses all of it. Shuttle passengers are set down near NRG Center and NRG Arena rather than at a single front door.

The Rodeo publishes its designated drop-off and rideshare area for each year's event, and the assignment has moved between years. We confirm the current one before your date rather than relying on where it was last season, and your chauffeur tells you exactly where to walk to at the end of the night.

Everyone leaves a rodeo concert at once. That is what turns a twenty-minute drive into ninety, and it is why the garage crawl is worse than the traffic.

Your chauffeur stages away from the immediate exit crush and comes in when you are at the meeting point. You wait indoors or at the curb rather than in a stationary car in a garage ramp.

Rodeo nights are group nights, and the barbecue days especially. Somebody in every group ends up not drinking and watching the clock. One booking removes that job.

A Cadillac Escalade ESV covers up to six with room to spare. A stretch limousine takes up to ten and makes the ride part of the night. For a larger group we coordinate Escalades so everyone travels in the same class of car.

The date, the event or concert, the pickup address, the number of riding, and whether you want the car to wait or to come back for you.
