Galveston Cruise Port Transfers

The Port of Galveston is the closest cruise port to Houston, and it is still a real drive. From Sugar Land or Missouri City, budget 75 to 90 minutes down Beltway 8 to I-45 South and over the causeway; from Katy or Cinco Ranch, about an hour and a half; from Richmond and Fulshear, plan on the longer end. Add the port's own traffic on a Sunday morning when three ships are turning around and you understand why we leave earlier than you'd think.

Galveston has several cruise terminals and they are not interchangeable. Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, MSC, and Disney sail from different berths along Harborside Drive, and pulling up to the wrong one with four suitcases and a boarding window closing is a bad way to start a vacation. Tell us the ship and the sail date and we take you to the correct terminal door.

No parking, no shuttle lines, no wrestling bags. Port parking runs for the length of the sailing and still leaves you hauling luggage across a lot; a door-to-ship transfer skips all of it. Your chauffeur loads the bags at your house, unloads them at the porter, and you walk to check-in with your hands free.

A Cadillac Escalade ESV is the vehicle for this. Cruise luggage is the heaviest luggage anyone packs, and a family of five with a week of bags plus carry-ons fits with room left over — no one is holding a suitcase on their knees to Galveston. Smaller parties travel in an executive sedan; larger groups sailing together can be split across staged departures — tell us the party size and the boarding window and we'll tell you honestly what we can cover.

The return leg is the one people forget to book. Disembarkation runs in waves and rarely lands where the schedule says, so we track your ship's arrival and time the pickup to when you actually clear customs. From there we bring you home, or drive you straight to IAH or Hobby for a connecting flight. Call (832) 877-0500 with your ship, terminal, and sail dates and we'll set both legs at once.

Cruise Transfers — questions we hear

How long is the drive from Houston to the Galveston cruise port?

From Sugar Land or Missouri City, budget 75 to 90 minutes down Beltway 8 to I-45 South and over the causeway; from Katy or Cinco Ranch about an hour and a half. On a Sunday morning with three ships turning around, the port's own traffic adds time — which is why we leave earlier than you'd think.

Will you drop us at the right cruise terminal?

Yes. Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, MSC, and Disney sail from different berths along Harborside Drive, and they are not interchangeable. Tell us the ship and sail date and your chauffeur takes you to the correct terminal door, unloads the bags at the porter, and you walk to check-in hands-free.

Can you pick us up when the cruise returns?

Yes — book both legs at once. Disembarkation runs in waves and rarely lands on schedule, so we track your ship's actual arrival and time the pickup to when you clear customs. From there we take you home, or straight to IAH or Hobby for a connecting flight.
